I just stood there and looked at her for a little while. I’ve had complaints that the crust is too hard before, yes, and I’ve had people ask me to put the bread in a paper bag because they’re going to make bread crumbs and the paper bag helps make the bread crusty; but this lady literally bought bread from us, came back the next day and complained that her bread had been too soft and she wanted a refund and an apology for not warning her.

I had served her the day before, and I remember that she had grabbed the bread by the middle of the bag (because I winced because that squishes it) so it’s not like she didn’t know how soft it was.
